"16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and
admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and
spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever
you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:16-17)
Singing and worship is not just a form of personal communion with God but it
is also about fellowship and encouragement for one another. In fact,
Colossians and Ephesians both tell us to teach one another through psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs. So there can be songs sung to exhort or to
encourage people to love God and to do what is pleasing in His sight.
Below is a list of some treasured Hymns along with some songs that we share
from the Lord's bounty and goodness toward us:

TRUE LOVE:
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor [hate] what is evil. Cling to what
is good.
(Rom 12:9)
ETERNAL LIFE:
"Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal
life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has
placed his seal of approval.”
(John 6:27)
TO BE PERFECT IS TO BE A CHRISTIAN:
"Be perfect therefore, even as your Father in heaven is perfect."
(Matthew 5:48)
STOP SINNING:
"Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are
some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame."
(1 Corinthians 15:34)
SANCTIFICATION IN HOLINESS:
"But the path of the just is like the
shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes
them stumble."
(Prov 4:18-19)
NOT BY FAITH ALONE:
"You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith
alone."
(James 2:24)
ETERNAL SECURITY:
"Therefore, my
brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure.
For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a
rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.."
(2 Peter 1:10-11)
